Here at Marisolio, we are really getting into the whole St. Patrick’s Day thing. The town of Murphys, where our shop is located, is named after two brothers, John and Daniel Murphy, who arrived in the area in 1844, hoping to strike it rich in the local gold mines. That didn’t happen, but the boys did succeed very well as merchants, selling supplies to the Gold Rush days prospectors. The town is named after the brothers, who as you may have guessed by their name, were of Irish extraction.
The town goes wild on Irish Day, which is held on the closest Saturday to St. Patrick’s Day. This year it is going to be on Saturday, March 16th. There will be a parade and many other festivities for visitors to enjoy. Our shop is prepared for the celebration, with a number of new products for you to enjoy. One of them is our Jalapeno White Balsamic, which simply must be tasted to be believed. This product is full of jalapeno flavor, and has some heat, but by no means too much heat. This balsamic would be the perfect finishing drizzle on any Mexican dish, or hearty soup or stew. There is a brightness of flavor, along with the zest of the jalapeno that will leave people saying, “What IS this? It is fabulous!”
