These two lovely ladies are Debbie and Mary, who taught our most recent cooking class, “Hearty Soups”. The class was a huge success and one of the things our teachers taught us was the virtue of making home made stock. Now this is a concept we all need to embrace. When you make your own stock from chicken or beef bones, you are in control of how much salt you put in the mixture. You would not believe the sodium content of most canned stocks! Full of vitamins and delicious good taste, your home made stock will be the base for many fabulous soup recipes your family will love.
Notice the big screen TV in the photo above? When the class was going on, a camera was focused on the cook top and all the students could see perfectly each step of creating the recipes for delicious soups. If you haven’t signed up for any of our cooking classes, you might want to do that. Call the shop at 209 728-8853 for more information on the schedule and topics. The April 2 class is Kid’s Cooking, and since our local children are on Spring Break, we hope to have loads of fun with them making pizza and salad. Do you know any children who might like to join us?
