Our cooking classes are simply an experience you must have.  Our cooking instructors are knowledgeable as well as entertaining, and the class themes are always seasonally appropriate and culturally educating.  Our state of the art demonstration kitchen provides a large screen TV so everyone in the class has a perfect vantage point for learning and fun.  We love to share some photos of recent classes so you can see what a great time is being had by all the attendees.

The photo above was taken at our Moroccan cooking class, taught by Carol Hogan (Board Member of Calaveras GROWN), after a recent trip to that country.  The students learned how to make Chicken with Olives, Seven Vegetable Couscous, and other delicious dishes.  The students enjoyed a full meal of Moroccan food and it is pretty obvious by the smiles on their faces that things were tasty indeed.

Another recent class offering was  Bites of Britain, where our resident chef Nicole Sass shared some dishes she had recently enjoyed on a trip to Great Britain.  We actually had two proper Brits, who were visiting Murphys, attend the class.  Afterwards they sent us a note saying how much they enjoyed the class and the innovative “American take” on some of their country’s classic tea fare.  Assorted tea sandwiches, scones and a beef stew in stout were on the menu.

Our instructors go all out with festive table settings to get you in the proper mood for the class theme, as you can see from the photo above.

The classes are a combination of lecture/demonstration and hands on participation by the students.  The classes feature our olive oils and balsamic vinegars, and will give you a plethora of ideas on how to use these products.

Our upcoming class schedule can be found on the Events section of our website:  www.marisolio.com, or call the shop at 209-728-8853 to sign up for our electronic newsletter with all the class information.  We also have a Facebook page, and would be thrilled if you would “like” us on that site.  Cooking classes are held twice a month, on Tuesdays.  We offer a 10:00 AM morning session as well as a 6:00 PM evening session of most of our classes.  Class fee is $30, with a $5 discount on  your tuition fee if you “bring a friend” who also enrolls.
