How To Use This Month’s Sale Products

Marisolio has some terrific products on sale for the month of October.  If some of these products are new to you, we’d like to offer some suggestions on how to use them.

Our Honey Ginger Balsamic and Roasted Sesame Oil make the best marinade for grilled chicken you will ever have!  Simply combine 2 T of Honey Ginger Balsamic, 1 T Roasted Sesame Oil, 2 T of Soy Sauce and 2 T of your favorite olive oil and mix well.   Add minced ginger and garlic for even more taste.  Marinate chicken for 2-6 hours.

Our Sherry Reserva Vinegar has many uses in the kitchen.  If you find yourself with no sherry on hand for a recipe, Sherry Reserva Vinegar can be substituted.  Try it in Chicken Stroganoff.  Brown 1 pound of seasoned chicken tenders in 4 T butter for two minutes.  Add 1 chopped onion and 1/3 pound of sliced mushrooms and saute until onions and mushrooms begin to brown and soften.  Add 1 1/2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, and 1/4 c white wine or broth.  Combine 2 T flour with 3 T Sherry Reserva Vinegar and add to skillet.  Cook 1 minute, stirring to thicken pan juices.  Add 1 cup sour cream and stir until heated through.  Serve over egg noodles.

Marisolio’s Cilantro Roasted Onion Olive Oil is truly a must have product for your pantry.  It can be used equally effectively in Asian or Hispanic recipes for a delicious and aromatic flavor.  We like to use it for Beef Chile Stew.  Brown 2 lbs seasoned stew beef in 2 T Cilantro Roasted Onion Oil.  Remove from pan and add 2 sliced onions.  Cook onions til soft  then add beef back into pan along with a 4 1/2 oz can diced green chiles, a 16 oz can of diced tomatoes, a 14 oz can beef broth.  Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer for 2 1/2 hours,  covered, stirring occasionally.  Season if necessary and serve in bowls with flour tortillas, diced avocado, sour cream, shredded cheddar and limes to squeeze over.  To kick this up a bit more, add some sliced fresh jalapenos when serving.

Combine two parts Barnea Extra Virgin Olive Oil with one part Juniper Berry Balsamic, and you will have the tastiest (and easiest) bread dipping combination ever.  It is a simple appetizer to present to guests, and never fails to please.  Our Barnea oil is robust with grassy, herbal notes and pleasant bitter taste.  The Juniper Berry Balsamic is a staff favorite, and definitely ushers in the flavors of fall.  Try it mixed with the Barnea (or other oil of your choice) for a salad dressing on top of mixed greens, dried cherries, sliced toasted walnuts and gorgonzola cheese.
