How To Use November’s Sale Products in Your Holiday Feast

As promised, we want to share with you some specific ideas on how you can use our wonderful November sale products in your holiday recipes.

Most of us have a recipe for Sweet Potato Casserole that appears on our Thanksgiving table.  When I make my recipe, which calls for 2 to 3 cups of mashed sweet potatoes, I add 1/4 cup of half and half, 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup maple syrup and 1/4 cup Marisolio Pumpkin Pie Spiced Balsamic.

Some of us like to see something other than Pumpkin Pie on our holiday dessert table.  I like to offer my favorite recipe for Blood Orange Chocolate Brownies.  Melt 4 oz unsweetened chocolate in a pan.  Set aside to cool and mix in 2 T. Marisolio Dark Chocolate Balsamic.  In a separate bowl, sift 1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 3/4 tsp salt and 2 cups sugar.   Melt 1/2 cup butter, add 1/2 cup Marisolio Blood Orange Olive Oil, and whisk in 4 eggs, one at a time.  Add in 1 T. vanilla and the chocolate/balsamic mixture.  Fold in dry ingredients and 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts.  Pour into 9 x 12 inch pan, smooth top, and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

A staple on my Thanksgiving table is a crisp Waldorf salad.  I chop up 2 cups apples, 2 celery ribs, and 1/4 cup each walnuts and raisins.  For the dressing combine 1/4 cup mayonniase and 1/4 cup sour cream and 1 T. honey.  Mix in 2 T. Marisolio Red Apple Balsamic to dressing and pour over apple mixture.

Marisolio’s Award Winning Coratina just explodes with fruity olive goodness.  You will want plenty of this high anti-oxidant extra virgin olive oil on hand for all your holiday cooking needs.  You will use it for all purpose sauteeing as well as in roux for sauces.  Try massaging it all over your whole turkey before roasting.  The flavor and moistness it imparts is amazing.  It is also a great olive oil for bread dipping before the feast.  Buy a big bottle so you don’t run out!

What can I say about Marisolio’s Wild Mushroom and Sage Olive Oil, other than it is just the best, most flavorful addition to any pasta dish you could come up with.  I know many families like to have a big dish of macaroni and cheese on their holiday tables, and when you make your thickening roux with this flavorful product, it will take your basic mac and cheese to an entirely new level!

I’ve already mentioned how to use our Blood Orange Olive Oil in Chocolate Brownies, but you must keep it in mind for your salad dressings as well.  One half cup Marisolio Blood Orange Olive Oil mixed with 1/4 cup Marisolio Pomegranate Balsamic will create the easiest and most tasty salad dressing ever.  Pour it over mixed greens, crumbled goat cheese, toasted walnuts and dried cranberries.  Your guests will ask for seconds on salad, I promise.
